How is paper recycled?
Paper suitable for recycling is
called scrap paper. Recycling
paper reduces the impact of
industrial paper-making.
Paper pulp is made of wood
and paper production results
in felled trees. Recycling of
newsprint and printing or
copier paper saves such
wood and protects the
environment from
deforestation. Recycling
involves a number of different
processes such as pulping,
cleaning, washing,screening,
bleaching and even waste
disposal called sludge, but
this can also be burned to
use as energy in paper mills.
What is zari
embroidery?
Zari embroidery consists of
gold or silver thread used in
traditional garments in India.
This thread is woven into
fabrics, primarily made of
patterns. It is a traditional
method of textile weaving and
involves complex designs. It
results in a very rich and
lustrous feel to the fabric. The
stitches are extremely fine
and are worked with dexterity
and skill, endowing even the
simplest product with
definition and character. The
motifs used for embroidery or
weaving sometimes follow
Indian traditions, and include
the elephant, the mango, the
lotus, etc.
